2nd Annual Electric Fun Fly

Longtime club member Kenny Antonellis ran his 2nd Annual Electric Funfly on a beautiful Sunday in August at the Bill Martin flying field in Medfield, Mass. Conditions were ideal for soaring that day, and 19 contestants fielded over 22 varieties of electric powered aircraft in pursuit of the trophy.  Thanks to Kenny and others for providing the photos.

Bill Martin (for whom the flying site is named, thanks to his tireless effort to secure it) carries his Eclipse back to the pits, with help from John Blaser.

Dan Ross' colorful Eclipse makes a low pass for the bomb drop event. The "bomb" is really a small ring that is placed on a post that is rubber- banded to the glider.

Kenny Antonellis discusses the finer points of balloon deployment with Chris Schuch, a finalist of the Best Dressed Pilot award.
