2001 Millennium Fun-Fly

Well, it was coooold, but a group of intrepid explorers set out to Davis Field Farm to make sure the second millenium start date (Jan 1, 2001) didn't wreak havoc on our radio equipment - but mostly to have a blast running the first Zagi-400 Frozen Fingers Fun-Fly Pylon Race Millenium Fun-Fly and whatever else was supposed to be happening that morning!

During the day we even got to say "hello, Dave" as a fitting start to the year 2001!

When we weren't hopping around trying to stay warm, or flying heats (not too aptly named for the day!), there was some fun chatter in the "pits"

Someone asked "why is it that everyone in the club has car troubles"!

A heat begins!  Most heats had 8-10 planes in the air - at least at the start...

There was some real racing action, in between "splats" into the ground, and some "questionable corners" around the pylons - great fun was had by all.

Delicate work is a little trickier with thick gloves...

...and even "almost smooth" landings left plenty of evidence around...

Well.  Our radios worked, and everyone flew until their fingers were frozen, so it was a success!
