All types of models may be flown at Bill Martin Field
PLEASE NOTE:
The hours of operation for Bill Martin Field are 9:00am until
dusk.
Please do not operate glow or gas-fueled engines before 9:00am.
Located off of Hospital Road, near the Charles River Reservation in Medfield,
Mass. Hours of operation are 9:00 AM to dusk, seven days a week.
Directions
- From Rt. 9 in Natick, take Rt. 27 South through Sherborn.
- Take a left onto Hospital Road after you pass over the Charles River
(Hospital Road is about
1/2 mile past the Entering Medfield sign, and about 1/4 mile
past the Medfield Charles River Reservation sign - if you get to a stop
light after passing the entering Medfield sign you've gone too far.)
- Take a left onto the dirt road just past the
railroad tracks. Please DO NOT drive right along side the railroad tracks. That
is private property and you will be subject to a fine!
- There is a locked gate near the beginning of the road
(the gate is open for Instructor Nights, CRRC competition and fun-fly
events, but otherwise this gate is left locked at all times)
- Please make sure to lock the gate behind you
on the way in, and when you leave - on nights other than Instructor Nights
and competition/fun-fly events!
Field Keys
Members can get a field key by contacting Ken
Antonellis, or by presenting a valid membership card at Alex's
RC Hobbyworks in Belmont. These keys are rotated each year,
so at the beginning of the flying season make sure to renew your membership and
get a new field key!
Drive in the dirt road, up over a gentle rise,
and you'll see the field (about 1/4 mile from the gate). FREQUENCY ALERT!
Channel 48 has had regular
interference at Medfield, so we recommend that you do NOT fly on channel 48 at this field.
