First International Whipper Whiz Duration and Distance Competition. Most of the 75 to whom I e-mailed plans, were apparently intimidated by results initially posted by that pompous Maxx Von Schnitzleberger and just plain capitulated without really trying. SHAME ON YOU!! You are without excuse! 11 year Courtney Mierop of Newbury Park, Ca rose to the occasion and bested his 7 seconds time! Bear in mind the scores were accomplished with a tiny, totally-unsophisticated 6" span chuck glider. Well, you could stretch things a bit and say it is a "composite". (balsa, glue, card stock and putty or lead foil for nose weight) DURATION: (in seconds, followed by approx. age, residence)
DISTANCE: (In feet) (see above for city, etc.)
John Fulginiti is hereby recognized as the International Whipper Whiz DURATION GRAND CHAMPION. (Respectfully and humbly hum the Canadian National Anthem) John O' Sullivan is hereby recognized as the International Whipper Whiz DISTANCE GRAND CHAMPION. (Hum same as above) Sidelights: Lower Slobovia has declared a national day of mourning as a result of the tragic loss of their one Whipper Whiz that flew in the pig sty and got eaten. Outer Mongolia never figured out how to cut the balsa log to build any Whiz's. The Aussies, Brits, Japanese, Argentinians, etc. were all "no shows." An opportunity will be given for all to save face in the next International Whipper Whiz contest. . .to be announced! Harley Michaelis, LSF023, 26 S. Roosevelt, Walla Walla, WA. 99362.
