Home > About CRRC Also check out our CRRC club flyer! (2 MB Acrobat PDF file) The Charles River Radio Controllers (CRRC), founded in 1964, is a club based in Eastern Massachusetts with over 170 members dedicated to promoting the hobby of radio control modeling. Our club meetings are open to the public - we welcome visitors (you do not need to be a member to attend!). Come introduce yourself and meet others who share a passion for radio controlled models of all sorts. You can join CRRC either by filling out our on-line application form and mailing it to the club membership secretary, or you can join at any club meeting. CRRC operates several AMA sanctioned flying fields in the eastern Massachusetts area. The club certifies several of its members as flight instructors, who volunteer their time to help new fliers get started successfully. So that you can have the best learning experience possible, we ask that you please contact one of our instructors ahead of time to arrange a time to meet. Getting a new aircraft ready to fly is straightforward after you have done it once - but the first time you may have lots of questions. Attending the club meetings and meeting an instructor early can help you be ready when "flying day" arrives. See our Getting Started area for more details on how to get your first aircraft in the air successfully. Business matters that arise at the general meeting are reviewed at the Board of Directors meeting, held on the fourth Tuesday of every month beginning at 7:30. The Board of Directors meeting is open to all members, who are encouraged to attend if they want to bring up any special issues, or if they just want to see how the club business is managed. The CRRC Bylaws are also available for you to read.
